The Mueller ACP02734 is a 7/8 inch AC Push long radius ninety degree elbow for larger refrigerant lines.

At 7/8 inch this fitting serves suction lines on larger residential and light commercial systems, and the size introduces a consideration that smaller fittings do not.

Larger tubing is heavier, stiffer, and harder to hold in alignment during assembly. A push fitting seals on a tube that enters straight and sits square in the fitting body, and forcing a misaligned tube home can damage the sealing element or leave it partially engaged. On larger sizes the force required to insert the tube is significant, and the temptation to lever or work it in at an angle is correspondingly greater.

Supporting the tubing properly before assembly solves this. The tube should be clipped or held so that it approaches the fitting in line and does not need to be pulled into position, which also prevents the finished joint from carrying a permanent side load.

Pipe support after installation matters equally. A push joint is not intended to carry the weight of an unsupported run, and unsupported large diameter tubing also transmits vibration into the joint from the compressor.

Confirm tube size, pressure rating, and refrigerant compatibility. Prepare the tube carefully, support the run adequately, and pressure test the completed installation.
