The Mueller ACP02728 is a 3/4 inch AC Push long radius ninety degree elbow for refrigerant line work.

A less obvious advantage of flameless connection is that it eliminates internal oxide scale entirely.

When copper is heated in the presence of air, a black cupric oxide scale forms on the internal tube surface. That scale is brittle, it flakes away in service, and the fragments circulate with the refrigerant. They lodge in metering devices, block strainers and screens, contaminate the compressor, and are a recognised cause of premature failure in newly installed systems.

The remedy when brazing is a continuous low flow nitrogen purge through the tube during heating, which displaces the oxygen and prevents scale forming. It is well established practice, it is not difficult, and it is skipped more often than the industry likes to acknowledge, particularly on quick repairs where setting up the nitrogen feels disproportionate to the job.

A push fitting removes the question. No heat is applied, so no scale forms, and the system is not exposed to a contamination source at all.

This matters most on service work, where the fitting is being installed into a system already carrying a charge and any debris introduced goes straight into operating equipment.

Confirm tube size, pressure rating, and refrigerant compatibility. Cut square, deburr thoroughly, verify the sealing surface, and confirm full insertion depth.
