Mueller Refrigerant Line Fitting 1/4 AC Push Long Radius 90 Elbow

The Mueller ACP02715 is a 1/4 inch AC Push long radius ninety degree elbow, a push to connect fitting for refrigerant line work that requires no brazing.

Push to connect refrigerant fittings assemble by inserting prepared tubing into the fitting body, where an internal gripping ring and sealing element engage the tube and form a joint rated for system pressures. No flame, no filler metal, and no nitrogen purge are involved.

The appeal is straightforward. Brazing a refrigerant joint requires a torch, fuel and oxygen cylinders, a nitrogen purge to prevent internal oxide scale, and a technician skilled enough to make a sound joint in whatever position the pipework presents. A push fitting removes all of it and makes the joint in seconds.

The requirement that replaces all of that is tube preparation, and it is not optional. The tube must be cut square, fully deburred inside and out, and the outer surface must be clean, round, and free of scratches along the length that will sit inside the fitting. The seal bears on that surface, and a scratch running axially across it provides a leak path that will not close.

Insertion depth must also be verified. Marking the tube before insertion and confirming the mark reaches the fitting after assembly is the standard check.
