The Lau 60557401 is a 22 inch counterclockwise rotation, 27 degree pitch, three-wing propeller fan blade for condenser and ventilation fan applications.

Blades are supplied in matched clockwise and counterclockwise versions precisely because equipment manufacturers use both, and which one a given unit requires depends on the rotation of the motor fitted and the direction air must travel.

Establishing the correct hand for a replacement is straightforward if the original blade is intact: it can be compared directly. Where the original is damaged beyond recognition or missing, the motor's rotation determines the answer, since the blade must be handed to move air in the required direction when turning in the motor's direction.

For a condensing unit, air must be drawn through the coil and discharged upward through the top grille. Confirming that this is what happens, by feeling the discharge at the grille after start-up, is the final check that the combination is correct.
