Lau Fan Blade 18" Counterclockwise 33-Degree 3-Wing

The Lau 60556601 is an 18 inch counterclockwise rotation, 33 degree pitch, three-wing propeller fan blade for condenser and ventilation fan applications.

Handling and storage matter more with propeller blades than their appearance suggests. Aluminium blades are readily bent by impact, by being stacked under weight, or by being set down on an uneven surface, and a bend of a few degrees at one wing tip is enough to unbalance the assembly.

The consequence of imbalance is borne by the motor bearings. A rotating imbalance produces a cyclic side load at every revolution, and at typical condenser fan speeds that amounts to a very large number of load cycles over a season. Bearing failure follows, and the motor is replaced without the actual cause being identified.

For that reason a blade should be inspected before fitting, not merely unwrapped and installed, and any blade that has been dropped or that shows a tip out of plane should be rejected.

Confirm diameter, rotation, pitch angle, wing count, hub bore, and hub depth before ordering, and check the assembly turns true with even tip clearance before applying power.
