Lau Fan Blade 20" Clockwise 30-Degree 3-Wing

The Lau 60556901 is a 20 inch clockwise rotation, 30 degree pitch, three-wing propeller fan blade for condenser and ventilation fan applications.

When a condenser fan motor is replaced, the blade deserves inspection at the same time. It is already removed, the labour is already committed, and blade condition affects the life of the motor just fitted.

The things to look for are a wing tip out of plane, corrosion at the hub or along the wing roots, deposits accumulated unevenly on the blade faces, and any sign that the hub has been loose on the shaft. Any of these produces imbalance, and imbalance is a leading cause of repeat bearing failure in condenser fan motors.

Where a motor has failed from bearing wear rather than from an electrical fault, blade condition should be treated as a probable contributing cause rather than assumed innocent.

Cleaning a serviceable blade before refitting also restores the airflow that accumulated deposits had reduced.
