Description
The Lau 60556701 is a 20 inch clockwise rotation, 27 degree pitch, three-wing propeller fan blade for condenser and ventilation applications in HVAC equipment.
Diameter is the specification with the largest effect on airflow, since the area swept by the blade increases with the square of its diameter. A 20 inch blade sweeps considerably more area than an 18 inch blade at the same pitch and speed, and moves proportionally more air.
That relationship makes diameter substitution particularly consequential. A blade larger than the original will not clear the orifice or may foul the cabinet, and if it does fit it will overload the motor. A smaller blade leaves excessive tip clearance, which allows air to recirculate around the blade tips instead of passing through the coil, and airflow falls disproportionately.
Correct tip clearance to the orifice is part of the design and is not something to be adjusted by fitting a different blade size.
Confirm diameter, rotation, pitch angle, wing count, hub bore, and hub depth before ordering, and check tip clearance around the full circumference of the orifice after installation.
