The Lau 60558601 is an 18 inch counterclockwise rotation, 33 degree pitch, four-wing propeller fan blade for condenser and ventilation fan applications.

Corrosion is the failure mode that ends most propeller fan blades in coastal and industrial environments. Aluminium blades corrode where they contact dissimilar metals in the hub and hardware, and salt-laden or chemically contaminated air accelerates the process considerably.

The effect on performance is gradual and easy to miss. Corrosion products build unevenly across the blade faces, which both roughens the aerodynamic surface and unbalances the assembly. Airflow falls, vibration rises, and motor bearing life is consumed, all without any single point at which a fault is declared.
