Lau Fan Blade 14" Clockwise 19-Degree 3-Wing

The Lau 60998901 is a 14 inch three wing axial fan blade with a 19 degree pitch and clockwise rotation, supplied as a replacement propeller for condensing units and air cooled equipment.

At 19 degrees this is a low pitch blade, which places it at the gentler end of the condenser fan range. Low pitch blades move less air per revolution and correspondingly load the motor less, and they are specified where the equipment needs only modest airflow, where the motor is small, or where sound level is a design priority.

Low pitch does not mean low quality or reduced capability. It means the blade was matched to a particular motor and a particular coil, and the equipment was rated on that combination. Fitting a higher pitch blade in the belief that more airflow will improve performance is a common and costly error. The additional airflow provides little benefit once the coil is adequately served, while the motor draws more current continuously and its life shortens.

Where a unit genuinely suffers from insufficient condenser airflow, the cause is far more often a dirty coil, a restricted discharge, or a failing motor than an inadequate blade.

Confirm diameter, pitch, wing count, rotation, and hub bore against the original before ordering, and clean the condenser coil as part of the same service.
