The Lau 6141660001 is a 14 inch two wing axial fan blade supplied as a replacement propeller for condensing units and air cooled equipment.

Condenser fan blades operate in one of the more hostile environments in the building. They sit outdoors, exposed to rain, ultraviolet light, temperature cycling, and whatever the local atmosphere contains. In coastal installations that means salt, near agricultural operations it means ammonia and fertiliser dust, and in industrial areas it can mean a range of corrosive compounds.

Corrosion attacks a fan blade in two ways. It removes material, which unbalances the blade and weakens the wing structure, and it roughens the surface, which reduces aerodynamic efficiency. Advanced corrosion around the hub is particularly serious, since that is where the blade carries all its load.

Blades in corrosive environments should be inspected at each service, with particular attention to the hub area and the leading edges of the wings. Pitting, flaking, or any loss of section is grounds for replacement rather than continued service.

Two wings at 14 inches is a common configuration in smaller and mid sized condensers.

Confirm diameter, wing count, pitch, rotation, and hub bore diameter against the original before ordering. Where corrosion has been the cause of failure, inspect the motor shaft and mounting for the same damage.
