A terminal connector is where a cable meets a machine, and that joint is worth thinking about because it is the one nobody inspects.

Welding machines have output terminals — studs, Dinse-style sockets, or lugs — and the cable has to attach to them. That connection carries the full output, every arc, for the life of the machine. It is bolted or twisted on once, during installation, and then it is behind the machine forever.
