Rust-Oleum RSOV2187838 Spray Paint V2100 High Performance 15 oz Gray Gloss

The Rust-Oleum RSOV2187838 is V2100 high performance spray paint, enamel, 15 oz aerosol, gray, gloss, 20 minute dry time, 6 per case.

Note that this catalogue carries another V2100 aerosol under a different part number with identical stated specifications — grey, gloss, enamel, 15 oz, 20 minute dry, 6 per case. Two SKUs cannot be the same product, so these are different greys and the colour names are not distinguishing them. Obtain the actual colour designations from Rust-Oleum before publishing; a customer matching equipment will find out the difference after it is sprayed.

That is the whole problem with grey. It is the default colour of industrial machinery, which means grey paint is almost always being matched to something — and grey has more shades in common use than any other industrial colour. Buying grey without a designation is a coin toss.

Gloss is the durable end of the sheen range. Gloss films have no flatting agents disrupting the surface, so the resin is tightly packed: harder, less porous, and washable. That suits equipment that gets handled and wiped down.

The trade is that gloss shows the substrate, because reflected light reveals shape.

Enamel is an oxidative-cure resin, hardening over days. The 20 minute figure is dry-to-touch.
