Purdy KRY140900600 Premium Folding Multi-Tool Plastic Stainless-Steel 2 in

The KRY140900600 is a premium folding multi-tool with a plastic body, a 2 inch stainless steel blade, weighing 4.8.

A painter's multi-tool consolidates a handful of small operations that would otherwise need separate tools, and the folding format is what makes it live in a pocket rather than a bag.

The operations are the ones a painter performs constantly and never plans for: scraping loose paint, opening a can, spreading filler, cleaning a roller cover, pulling a nail, setting a nail head. Each is trivial. Collectively they are the reason a painter walks back to the van six times a day, and a tool in the pocket removes those trips.

The stainless steel blade is the specification worth noting. Painters work with water-based products constantly, and a carbon steel blade left wet — which it will be — rusts. Rust on a tool that touches finish surfaces is a defect waiting to transfer. Stainless does not care.

At 2 inches the blade is a scraper and spreader rather than a cutting knife.

The folding action protects the blade and the pocket. It also means the tool has a pivot, which is the part that eventually loosens.

Note that the stated weight of 4.8 carries no unit in the source data — verify before publishing.

Applications include painting, decorating, and general finishing work.
