Purdy KRY14A751129 Revolution 9 In. Cageless Threaded Roller Frame

The Purdy KRY14A751129 is a Revolution 9 inch cageless threaded roller frame.

Cageless is the specification and it addresses the part of rolling that everyone hates. A conventional roller frame is a wire cage — the cover slides over it and, once paint dries in the cage, refuses to come off. Cleaning it means working paint out of a wire birdcage, which nobody does properly, so covers get thrown away and frames get replaced.

A cageless frame is a solid form. The cover slides on and off cleanly, and the frame itself washes in seconds because there is nowhere for paint to hide.

The second benefit is stiffness. A wire cage flexes under pressure, which is why a heavily loaded roller can wander and leave uneven pressure across the cover. A solid frame does not.

Threaded is the other specification and it is what makes the frame useful beyond arm's reach. A threaded handle accepts an extension pole — for ceilings, high walls, and floors — and that is not an accessory, it is what lets a painter work from the ground instead of a ladder. Fewer ladder moves is a safety benefit as much as a speed one.

At 9 inches this is the standard wall size.

Applications include interior and exterior painting, walls, ceilings, and general decorating.
