Rust-Oleum RSOV2183838 Spray Paint V2100 High Performance 15 oz Gray Gloss

The Rust-Oleum RSOV2183838 is V2100 high performance spray paint, enamel, 15 oz aerosol, gray, gloss, 20 minute dry time, 6 per case.

Note a catalogue problem: this range carries two separate part numbers whose stated specifications are identical — both V2100, 15 oz, gray, gloss, enamel, 20 minute dry, 6 per case. They are almost certainly different greys. Rust-Oleum's range includes several, and a colour name alone does not distinguish them. Obtain the actual colour designations, because a customer ordering grey gloss and receiving the wrong shade will discover it after it is on the equipment.

Grey is the default colour of industrial machinery, which makes grey aerosol one of the highest-turning items in a maintenance store — and it is exactly the colour where getting the shade wrong is most visible, because it is being matched to something.

Gloss is the specification and it is the durable end of the range. Gloss films are tightly packed with no flatting agents disrupting the surface, which makes them harder, less porous, and more washable than the flat version of the same paint.

The cost is that gloss reveals the substrate — every dent and sanding mark, because reflected light shows shape.

Enamel cures by oxidation over days. The 20 minute figure is dry-to-touch.
