Rust-Oleum RSOV2179838 Spray Paint V2100 High Performance 15 oz Black Gloss

The Rust-Oleum RSOV2179838 is V2100 high performance spray paint, enamel, 15 oz aerosol, black, gloss, 20 minute dry time, 6 per case.

Gloss is the hardest and most durable finish in any range, and that is a physical fact rather than a marketing claim.

Sheen correlates directly with the film's surface. A gloss film is tightly packed resin with nothing added to break up the surface, which is why it reflects light specularly — and that same tight packing is why it is harder, less porous, and more resistant to marking than the flat and semi-gloss versions of the same paint. Flatting agents create the matte look by disrupting the surface, and a disrupted surface holds dirt and takes damage more easily.

So gloss black is the choice for anything that gets handled, wiped down, or exposed. It cleans. Dirt sits on it rather than in it.

The cost is honesty about the substrate. Gloss reveals everything underneath — dents, sanding scratches, weld marks, filler — because reflected light shows shape. A gloss coat over a poor surface advertises it.

That is the trade, and it is why all three blacks exist in this range rather than one.

Enamel is an oxidative-cure resin. The 20 minute figure is dry-to-touch; full hardness takes days, and early service marks the film.
