Rust-Oleum RSOV2147838 Spray Paint V2100 High Performance 15 oz Gloss Aerosol

The Rust-Oleum RSOV2147838 is V2100 high performance spray paint, enamel, 15 oz aerosol, industrial yellow, gloss, 20 minute dry time, 6 per case.

Industrial yellow is not safety yellow, and that is the most important thing on this listing.

This range carries three separate yellows — Safety Yellow, Industrial Yellow, and Yellow — under three part numbers. Safety yellow is the specified colour for caution and physical hazards under the conventions industrial facilities work to. Industrial yellow is a general equipment colour. They look similar in a catalogue thumbnail and they are different products for different purposes.

Buying the wrong one has a real consequence. A hazard marked in industrial yellow next to a hazard marked in safety yellow reads as two different things, and a colour code that is not consistent is not a code. The point of marking a pinch point yellow is that it means the same thing as every other yellow in the building.

So industrial yellow belongs on equipment, machinery, and plant that is yellow because it is yellow — the manufacturer's colour, matching an existing machine, marking a piece of kit. Not on hazards.

The listing should say which is which. A customer comparing three yellows cannot tell.

Enamel cures by oxidation. The 20 minute figure is dry-to-touch.
