Rust-Oleum RSOV2143838 Spray Paint V2100 High Performance 15 oz Safety Yellow

The Rust-Oleum RSOV2143838 is V2100 high performance spray paint, enamel, 15 oz aerosol, safety yellow, gloss, 20 minute dry time, 6 per case.

Note that this range carries three yellows — Safety Yellow, Industrial Yellow, and Yellow — under separate part numbers. They are not interchangeable, and a listing that does not distinguish them will produce mismatched facilities. That distinction is worth making explicit on the storefront.

Safety yellow is the specified one, and it is the most heavily used colour in the whole safety scheme. Under the conventions OSHA and ANSI codify, yellow designates caution and physical hazards: the things people strike against, stumble over, trip on, fall from, or get caught between. Handrails, bollards, floor edges, low beams, pinch points, and stair nosings.

That covers most of the actual injuries in a plant, which is why yellow is everywhere.

And it only works if it is one yellow. A facility where the bollards, the edges, and the handrails are three slightly different yellows has decoration rather than a code. A specified safety colour delivers batch consistency across years, which is the whole point.

Enamel cures by oxidation over days. The 20 minute figure is dry-to-touch.

Applications include hazard marking, bollards, handrails, and edges.
