Rust-Oleum RSOV2124838 Spray Paint V2100 High Performance 15 oz Safety Blue

The Rust-Oleum RSOV2124838 is V2100 high performance spray paint, enamel, 15 oz aerosol, safety blue, gloss, 20 minute dry time, 6 per case.

Safety blue is a specified colour and the word safety is doing real work — this is not a shade choice.

Under the safety colour conventions that industrial facilities work to, blue conventionally designates information and, historically, equipment that must not be started — the colour applied to a machine under repair, an out-of-service notice, or an informational sign. It is the quiet colour in the scheme: not a hazard, but a statement.

That system only functions if the colour is consistent. A blue tag on one machine and a slightly different blue on another reads as two unrelated things rather than one message, and the whole point of a colour code is that it can be read across a plant by somebody who has never been in it.

Which is what a specified safety colour buys: batch-to-batch consistency, so a repair done next year matches one done today.

Verify the current colour requirements against the applicable standard rather than assuming — safety colour conventions have been revised over the years and some historical assignments have changed.

Enamel is the resin, curing by oxidation over days. The 20 minute figure is dry-to-touch.

Applications include equipment marking, informational signage, and facility identification.
