Dustproofer is the specification and the problem it addresses is one that most people misdiagnose.

A concrete floor that produces dust is not dirty. It is disintegrating. Concrete cures with a weak layer at the surface — laitance, the fine cement and water that rises during placement — and that layer has almost no strength. Traffic abrades it, and the powder that appears every day after sweeping is the floor itself, coming apart.

That dust goes everywhere: into machinery, onto product, into filters, and into lungs. Sweeping it up is treating the symptom forever.

A sealer penetrates and binds the weak surface layer, so there is nothing loose to abrade off. The floor stops shedding.

Water-based acrylic is the practical formulation for occupied buildings: low odour, easy application, and no solvent evacuation.

The gloss finish is a consequence rather than a goal, and it is worth noting as a caution — a sealed concrete floor is more slippery when wet than a bare one. Where that matters, an additive or a different product is the answer.

Surface preparation determines penetration. A sealed, dirty, or previously coated floor will not take it.
