Nidec/Emerson Condenser Motor 1/10 HP 1100 RPM

The Nidec/Emerson 3402 is a 1/10 horsepower, 1100 RPM condenser fan motor for outdoor fan applications in small air conditioning and refrigeration condensing units.

Small condenser fan motors serve compact equipment where the coil is modest and the fan load light: small residential condensing units, refrigeration condensing units, ice machines, and outdoor sections of ductless systems.

The consequence of failure is out of proportion to the size of the part. Condenser airflow is what allows refrigerant to reject heat, and when it stops, condensing pressure rises until the system trips on high pressure or, in equipment without that protection, until the compressor is damaged by sustained operation at excessive discharge pressure and temperature.

On refrigeration equipment there is a further consequence, since capacity falls before any protection operates and product temperature can rise well before anyone notices the fan has stopped.

The motor requires a permanently connected run capacitor of the specified value.

Confirm horsepower, RPM, voltage, rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, mounting arrangement, and capacitor rating before ordering, and check that the fan blade is correct and undamaged while access is available.
