Nidec/Emerson Condenser Fan Motor 1/3 HP 1075 RPM 230V 1861

The Nidec/Emerson 1861 is a 1/3 horsepower, 1075 RPM, 230 volt condenser fan motor for outdoor fan applications in residential and light commercial condensing units.

One third horsepower serves three to four ton condensing units where the condenser coil area requires more airflow than a quarter horsepower motor can provide.

Condenser fan motors are exposed to weather continuously, and their construction reflects it. Windings are enclosed, leads are jacketed for outdoor use, and the end bells are designed to shed water. What the design cannot compensate for is a cabinet that has lost its integrity: a missing top panel screw, a displaced grille, or a corroded panel that admits water directly onto the motor will overwhelm the motor's own weather protection.

Where a condenser fan motor has failed early, the cabinet should be examined for the route by which water reached it. Motors that fail repeatedly in the same unit almost always have a mechanical explanation of this kind.

The motor requires a permanently connected run capacitor of the specified value.

Confirm horsepower, RPM, voltage, rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, mounting arrangement, and capacitor rating before ordering, and refit all cabinet fixings on completion.
