Mars Condenser Fan Motor 1/3-1/6 HP 1075R M10458

The Mars M10458 is a condenser fan motor rated 1/3 to 1/6 horsepower at 1075 RPM, supplied as a replacement for outdoor fan motors in residential and light commercial condensing units.

Condenser fan motors in outdoor units are almost universally mounted shaft-down, with the motor sitting above the fan blade in the top of the cabinet. That orientation is deliberate and has consequences for replacement. The motor must be rated for shaft-down operation, its bearings must tolerate the resulting thrust load, and any drain holes in the end bell must be positioned so that condensation and water ingress can escape rather than collect in the lower bearing.

Fitting a motor not rated for the orientation, or blocking the drain provision, produces bearing failure within a short service life.

The 1075 RPM rating is the standard speed class for condenser fan motors, matched to the blade diameter and pitch used in typical residential condensing units.

The motor requires a run capacitor of the specified value, permanently connected.

Confirm horsepower, RPM, voltage, rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, mounting method, and capacitor rating before ordering, and verify that the fan blade is undamaged and correctly positioned in the orifice during installation.
