Nidec/Emerson Condenser Fan Motor 1/6 HP 1075 RPM 230V 1-Speed

The Nidec/Emerson 1859 is a 1/6 horsepower, 1075 RPM, 230 volt single-speed condenser fan motor for outdoor fan applications in air conditioning and heat pump condensing units.

Single-speed condenser fan motors are the norm in conventional condensing units, where the outdoor fan simply runs whenever the compressor runs. There is no requirement for speed variation in a fixed-capacity system, so the motor is wound for one speed and controlled by the contactor alongside the compressor.

One sixth horsepower is a common size for smaller residential condensing units, typically in the one and a half to two ton range.

Rotation is the specification most often overlooked when ordering condenser fan motors. Rotation is stated as viewed from the shaft end, and it must match both the original motor and the fan blade fitted to it. Because condenser fan blades are handed, a motor of the wrong rotation paired with the existing blade will move air in the wrong direction, drawing air down through the coil instead of discharging upward, with an immediate effect on head pressure.
