The Mars M10459 is a condenser fan motor rated 1/3 to 1/8 horsepower at 825 RPM for outdoor condensing unit fan applications.

The 825 RPM rating identifies a six-pole motor rather than the four-pole 1075 RPM design used in most condenser fan applications. Lower shaft speed is specified where the fan blade is larger in diameter, since a larger blade moves the required air at lower rotational speed and does so more quietly.

Speed must be matched to the original motor. A condenser fan blade is designed for a specific rotational speed, and fitting a motor of a different speed changes airflow across the condenser coil directly. Too little airflow raises head pressure, compressor current, and discharge temperature; too much achieves nothing useful while increasing noise and motor load. Neither error announces itself immediately, and both shorten compressor life.
