Mars Azure 1/8-1/2 HP Condenser Fan Motor M10874

The Mars Azure M10874 is a variable-speed ECM condenser fan motor rated 1/8 to 1/2 horsepower, supplied as a programmable replacement for PSC outdoor fan motors in condensing units and heat pumps.

An ECM condenser fan motor replaces the PSC motor and its run capacitor with a brushless DC motor and integrated electronics. The capacitor is eliminated entirely, which removes the component that causes the majority of outdoor fan failures. That alone is a meaningful reliability improvement in a location where the capacitor is the weakest link.

The wide horsepower range and programmable speed selection allow one motor to cover a large number of OEM applications. Speed is configured at installation to reproduce the airflow of the motor being replaced, rather than being fixed by the winding.

ECM motors also draw substantially less power than the PSC motors they replace, and the outdoor fan runs whenever the compressor runs, so the saving accumulates across the season.

Confirm horsepower range, voltage, rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, mounting arrangement, and available cabinet clearance before ordering. Verify the programmed speed produces correct condenser airflow by checking head pressure and compressor current after commissioning.
