Mars Condenser Fan Motor 1/2 HP 1075 RPM M22730

The Mars M22730 is a 1/2 horsepower, 1075 RPM condenser fan motor for outdoor fan applications in larger residential and light commercial condensing units.

Half horsepower condenser fan motors serve four and five ton residential equipment and light commercial units where the condenser coil is large and the required airflow correspondingly high. At this size the motor represents a significant portion of the outdoor unit's electrical load, and its running current should be verified against nameplate after installation.

A reading above nameplate on a condenser fan motor usually points to the fan blade rather than the motor. A blade of greater diameter or steeper pitch than the original loads the motor beyond its rating, and blades are occasionally substituted incorrectly during previous repairs. A bent or damaged blade produces the same effect along with vibration that destroys the bearings.

Inspect the blade whenever the motor is replaced, and replace blade and motor together where the blade shows damage or corrosion.

The motor requires a permanently connected run capacitor of the specified value.
