Nidec/Emerson Condenser Fan Motor 1/4-1/8 HP 825 RPM

The Nidec/Emerson 5431 is a multi-horsepower condenser fan motor rated 1/4 to 1/8 horsepower at 825 RPM for outdoor fan applications using larger, slower-turning blades.

Combining a multi-horsepower winding with the six-pole 825 RPM speed class produces a motor that covers a group of OEM applications while preserving the low tip speed that quieter condensing units depend on. It is the natural stocking counterpart to a multi-horsepower 1075 RPM motor, and between the two a contractor covers most residential outdoor fan replacements.

The two speed classes are not interchangeable with one another. An 825 RPM motor and an 1075 RPM motor of the same horsepower will move substantially different volumes of air through the same blade, and substituting one for the other changes condensing performance directly. Nameplate speed on the failed motor is the specification to match, and it should be read rather than assumed.

Horsepower tap is selected at installation to match the original rating.

The motor requires a permanently connected run capacitor of the specified value.
