Description
The Nidec/Emerson 1875 is a 1/3 horsepower, 825 RPM, 230 volt condenser fan motor for outdoor fan applications in condensing units using larger, slower-turning fan blades.
Sound is a design constraint in modern condensing units, driven by both regulation and customer expectation, and the outdoor fan is usually the dominant noise source on a unit at part load. Manufacturers address it by moving to larger blades at lower speed, by shaping the discharge orifice and grille, and in some designs by varying fan speed with load.
A repair should preserve those design choices. Fitting a motor of the correct horsepower but the wrong speed, or a blade of the correct diameter but different pitch or blade count, can leave a unit that cools adequately but is noticeably louder than it was. On installations where the outdoor unit sits near a bedroom window or a neighbouring property, that outcome generates a callback even though the system is working.

The motor requires a permanently connected run capacitor of the specified value.
