Nidec/Emerson Condenser Fan Motor 1/3-1/6 HP 1075 RPM

The Nidec/Emerson EL3456 is an economy-line multi-horsepower condenser fan motor covering 1/3 to 1/6 horsepower at 1075 RPM for outdoor fan replacement.

The EL series is Emerson's cost-positioned motor range, built on the same fundamental PSC design as the premium line but specified for repairs where the equipment's remaining service life does not justify the higher-tier part. The distinction is a commercial one rather than a question of whether the motor will work.

Where the choice matters is in a demanding installation. Premium motors typically carry higher temperature ratings, better bearing specifications, and longer expected life, and on a rooftop unit in a hot climate those differences translate directly into replacement interval. On a shaded residential condensing unit with a customer planning to replace the system within a few years, the economy motor is the sensible repair.

Multi-horsepower construction allows the motor to cover several OEM ratings by tap selection at installation.

The motor requires a permanently connected run capacitor of the specified value.

Confirm the horsepower range covers the original, and verify RPM, voltage, rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, mounting arrangement, and capacitor rating before ordering.
