Nidec/Emerson Condenser Fan Motor 1/10 HP 1075 RPM

The Nidec/Emerson 2243 is a 1/10 horsepower, 1075 RPM condenser fan motor for small outdoor fan applications in refrigeration condensing units and compact air conditioning equipment.

Motors at one tenth horsepower serve small condenser coils, typically on commercial refrigeration condensing units, walk-in cooler and freezer condensers, ice machines, and small ductless outdoor sections.

The consequences of failure in refrigeration service differ from comfort cooling. When a condenser fan stops on an air conditioning system, the building gets warm and someone calls. When it stops on a walk-in cooler condensing unit, head pressure rises, capacity falls, and product temperature climbs, with the potential for stock loss well before anyone notices the fan is not turning. This is why refrigeration equipment more often carries alarms and why preventive replacement of a noisy fan motor is easier to justify commercially.

The motor requires a run capacitor of the specified value, permanently connected.

Confirm horsepower, RPM, voltage, rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, mounting arrangement, and capacitor rating before ordering, and check that the fan blade or propeller is the correct diameter and pitch for the application.
