Nidec/Emerson 1880 Condenser Motor 1/4 HP 825 RPM 460V

The Nidec/Emerson 880 is a 1/4 horsepower, 825 RPM, 460 volt condenser fan motor for outdoor fan applications in commercial air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.

The combination of 460 volt supply and the six-pole 825 RPM speed class indicates commercial equipment using a larger, slower-turning condenser fan blade. Lower tip speed reduces sound, which matters increasingly on commercial rooftop installations subject to local noise limits or located above occupied space.

Speed class must be matched when replacing. An 1075 RPM motor fitted where 825 RPM was specified overspeeds the blade, increases noise substantially, raises motor current, and may overload the motor depending on the blade's diameter and pitch.
