Metal Zinc Heater Stands 30X9

The Metal Zinc 30X9 is a 30 by 30 inch equipment stand with a 9 inch height, providing greater elevation for floor mounted appliances.

The additional height addresses situations where 6 inches is insufficient. Garage installations of gas appliances require the ignition source to be elevated above the floor to keep it clear of heavier than air gasoline vapour, and the specific height required depends on the code edition and jurisdiction. Where a higher elevation is called for, or where the appliance's own burner sits low in its cabinet, a taller stand is needed to achieve compliance.

Greater elevation also provides more clearance beneath the appliance for a drain pan and its piping, which is frequently the constraint in a water heater installation where the pan must drain by gravity to a suitable termination. It gives better access to lower connections and controls, and it raises the appliance further above any water on the floor.

The stand must carry the appliance's full operating weight. For a water heater this includes the water in the tank, which is a substantial load: a typical residential tank holds several hundred pounds of water in addition to the appliance itself.

Install on a sound, level floor and verify the appliance sits level on the stand.
