The DiversiTech EL3648-3 is an E-Lite plastic equipment pad measuring 36 by 48 by 3 inches, sized for large equipment or for two units mounted on a single base.

A 48 inch length accommodates the largest residential condensing units, light commercial equipment, and the common arrangement of two smaller units, typically a condenser and a heat pump or two condensers serving separate zones, placed on one continuous pad. Mounting two units on a shared pad simplifies the installation and gives a tidier result than two separate pads that inevitably settle at different rates.

Where two units share a pad, spacing between them must respect each manufacturer's clearance requirements. Condensers reject heat through the coil and draw air through all sides; units placed too close draw each other's discharge air, which raises head pressure, reduces capacity, and increases running cost on both.

Subgrade preparation matters proportionally more at this size, because a longer pad spans more ground and any variation in soil consolidation along its length will produce a twist rather than a simple tilt. Excavate to firm ground, bed on compacted gravel, and confirm level along both axes.

The plastic construction keeps the pad manageable for handling despite the size, where a concrete slab of the same dimensions would require equipment to place.
