CLC Kneeling Pad 302

The CLC 302 is a kneeling pad, providing cushioned insulation between the knees and a hard or cold working surface.

Trade work involves a great deal of time on the knees. Installing floor registers and boots, brazing line sets at a condensing unit, working at the base of an air handler, running wire along a floor, and servicing water heaters and floor mounted equipment are all performed kneeling, frequently on concrete, gravel, or a roof deck.

The consequences accumulate over a career rather than appearing in a single day. Prolonged kneeling on hard surfaces is associated with knee joint problems and with prepatellar bursitis, and the surfaces themselves present hazards: concrete conducts heat away from the body, gravel and swarf produce point loads, and roof surfaces in summer reach temperatures that cause burns through clothing.

A kneeling pad addresses all of these at negligible cost and with no encumbrance, since it is picked up and moved rather than worn. That is its advantage over strap-on knee pads for work where the technician is repeatedly kneeling in one place and then standing.
