DiversiTech Condenser Pad 32" EL3232-3

The DiversiTech EL3232-3 is an E-Lite plastic equipment pad measuring 32 by 32 by 3 inches, sized for mid-range residential condensing units and heat pumps.

Two inches larger in each direction than the common 30 inch pad, this size accommodates units whose footprint marginally exceeds 30 inches, which is a frequent situation with higher efficiency equipment. Efficiency improvements are achieved partly through larger coil surface area, and larger coils mean larger cabinets, so replacement equipment of the same nominal capacity is often physically bigger than the unit it replaces. A changeout that reuses the existing pad regularly reveals this only after the new unit is on site.

Selecting a pad with margin on each side of the unit footprint avoids the edge loading that causes a pad to tip or settle unevenly, and keeps the base rails fully supported.

The plastic construction weighs far less than an equivalent concrete slab, allowing one person to place it, and it does not crack in handling or under freeze-thaw cycling.

Level installation is what the pad exists to provide, and it depends on the ground beneath. Excavate to firm subgrade and bed on compacted gravel; a pad set on topsoil will settle. A condensing unit out of level compromises compressor oil return.
