Mars Polarpad 36X48X3 Gray M94794

The Mars M94794 is a PolarPad equipment pad measuring 36 by 48 by 3 inches in grey, for large equipment or two units on a single base.

The 48 inch length accommodates the largest residential condensing units, light commercial equipment, and the common arrangement of two units, such as a condenser and a heat pump or two condensers serving separate systems, on one continuous pad.

Sharing a pad avoids the differential settlement that occurs when two separate pads are placed side by side and consolidate at different rates, and it produces a neater result. Clearance between the units must still respect each manufacturer's requirements, since condensers draw air through the coil and discharge upward, and units placed too close recirculate each other's discharge air, raising head pressure and reducing capacity on both.

A pad of this span requires more careful ground preparation than a small square pad. It bridges a greater area of soil, and variation in consolidation along its length produces twist rather than a simple tilt, which is harder to correct once equipment is set. Excavate to firm subgrade across the full footprint, bed on compacted gravel, and verify level along both axes.

Elevation above grade keeps the coil clear of standing water, snow accumulation, mulch, and vegetation.

Applications include residential and light commercial condensing units, heat pumps, and multi-unit installations.
