Markal MRK80224 B Paintstik Solid Paint Marker Orange

The Markal MRK80224 is a B Paintstik solid paint marker, orange, 12 per dozen and 12 dozen per case.

The property that justifies a solid paint marker over anything cheaper is permanence, and it is worth being precise about what that means.

A Paintstik deposits actual paint. It skins over and cures, and the mark then behaves like paint: it survives rain, it survives being walked on, it survives a beam sitting in a yard for a season and a truck ride across a state. A chalk or soapstone mark is gone in the first shower. A marker pen mark is gone the first time a glove wipes it.

That matters because industrial marks have to outlive the moment. A section marked in a fabrication shop is read by an erection crew months later and hundreds of miles away. If the mark did not survive, the information is lost and somebody is measuring again from a drawing.

Orange is a high-visibility colour, which suits outdoor work and any surface where the mark has to be found before it can be read.

The marker works on oily, wet, rusty, scaled, and hot surfaces — the conditions a marker pen fails in.

Note the packaging: 12 per dozen, 12 dozen per case.

Applications include steel fabrication, shipyards, construction, and yards.
