Markal MRK80221 B Paintstik Solid Paint Marker Yellow

The Markal MRK80221 is a B Paintstik solid paint marker, yellow, 12 per dozen and 12 dozen per case.

Yellow is the highest-visibility colour in a marker range and on industrial steel that is the entire specification.

The surfaces these get used on are dark, dirty, and badly lit — mill scale, rust, castings, structural sections in a yard at dawn. A mark has to be found before it can be read, sometimes from twenty feet away, sometimes by somebody who did not make it. Yellow is found.

Colour also carries meaning on organised sites. Fabrication and erection work runs on marked material, and colour frequently distinguishes cut lines from hold marks, one crew's marks from another's, or one stage from the next. That scheme is local rather than standard, which is why customers order specific colours rather than taking what is in stock.

A Paintstik works where a marker pen will not: it is solid paint pushed onto the surface, so it marks through oil, water, rust, and scale rather than needing a clean dry substrate. Once skinned over it survives weather and handling.

Note the packaging: 12 per dozen, 12 dozen per case.

Applications include steel fabrication, shipyards, foundries, and construction.

Users include fabricators, welders, fitters, and layout crews.
