The JAZ JAZ54052 is a 4 inch twist knot wire cup brush with a ring, .020 inch steel wire, and a 5/8"-11 arbor hole, in a display package.

The ring is the specification worth explaining because it is a genuine engineering feature. A ring — a band around the outside of the knots — constrains them, stopping the wire bundles from flaring outward under centrifugal force at speed. That does three things: it keeps the knots working as intended rather than splaying, it makes the brush cut more consistently across its life, and it reduces wire throw, which is the failure mode that makes knot brushes hazardous.

Wire throw is not theoretical. A knot brush at speed sheds broken wire, and those pieces travel with real energy. A ring holds the knots together longer.

The trade is that a ringed brush is slightly less able to conform into a concave surface, since the knots cannot flare.
