All-Pro ALPCB-56142P Cup Brush Twist Knot Clamshell 6" 020" Steel 5/8"-11

The All-Pro ALPCB-56142P is a 6" twist knot cup brush with .020" steel wire and a 5/8"-11 arbor, supplied in clamshell packaging, 4 each per case.

A twist knot cup brush is the aggressive end of the wire brushing range. In a knot brush the wire is twisted into tight bundles rather than left as loose crimped filaments, and that twist is what does the work: the bundles behave less like bristles and more like small flails, delivering the impact needed to strip mill scale, heavy rust, weld slag, and old coatings. A crimped brush cleans; a knot brush removes.

The .020" wire gauge is a general-purpose heavy-duty specification — coarse enough to cut scale and slag, without the aggression of a heavier gauge on thinner material.

The 5/8"-11 arbor is the standard threaded spindle on right angle grinders, so the brush mounts directly to common 4-1/2" through 9" grinders without an adapter.

At 6" the cup diameter covers ground quickly, which is the reason to specify a cup over a smaller wheel when the work is area rather than a joint.

Applications include weld preparation and post-weld cleanup, rust and scale removal, paint and coating stripping, surface preparation before welding or painting, and general fabrication and maintenance work.
