The DeWalt DEWDW8025 is a concrete and masonry cut-off wheel for portable saws, 14 inch diameter x 5/32 inch thick with a 20 mm arbor.

The material specification is the critical one and it is not interchangeable with a metal wheel. Abrasive wheels are formulated for what they cut: a masonry wheel uses an abrasive grain and bond system suited to the hard, brittle, abrasive nature of concrete, block, and stone, while a metal wheel is formulated for ductile steel. Using the wrong one does not simply work poorly — it loads, glazes, overheats, and can fail.

The 20 mm arbor is the specification to verify before ordering. Portable cut-off saws — the petrol and hydraulic saws used on concrete — commonly run a 20 mm spindle rather than the 1 inch arbor of a stationary metal saw. These are close in size and not interchangeable, and a wheel on the wrong spindle is a serious hazard.

At 5/32 inch the wheel is thicker than a metal cut-off wheel, which is correct for masonry: the material is abrasive and the wheel needs body to survive it and to resist the side loading a hand-guided cut inevitably applies.

Applications include concrete, block, brick, stone, pavers, and masonry cutting in construction, demolition, utilities, and groundworks.

Verify the wheel's rated speed against the saw, inspect for damage before mounting, use the guard, and control silica dust — dry cutting masonry generates respirable crystalline silica.
