All-Pro ALPSB-43132P Stringer Bead Knot Wire Wheel Clamshell 6" 020" Steel

The All-Pro ALPSB-43132P is a 6" stringer bead knot wire wheel with 50 knots, .020" steel wire, a 5/8"-11 arbor, and a maximum rated speed of 12,500 RPM. It is supplied in clamshell packaging, 5 each per case.

A stringer bead wheel is a specialist tool, not a general brush, and the geometry explains why. The knots are packed into a narrow band rather than spread across a wide face, concentrating the entire wheel's energy into a strip roughly the width of a weld bead. That is what it is for: cleaning between passes on a multi-pass weld, getting into the root and the toes of a joint, and removing slag and scale from a groove that a wide brush simply rides over.

The knot construction twists the wire into rigid bundles that impact the work rather than sweep it — the difference between removing slag and polishing it.

The 50-knot count on a 6" wheel gives the density to cut consistently without gaps in the pattern, and the .020" wire is a general-purpose heavy-duty gauge.

The 12,500 RPM maximum rating must be checked against the grinder before mounting; a wheel run above its rating is a safety failure, not a performance one. The 5/8"-11 arbor fits standard right angle grinders.

Applications include multi-pass welding, pipe welding, structural fabrication, and weld cleanup in shipyards and heavy fabrication shops. Supplied 5 per case.
