All-Pro ALPSB-44242P Stringer Bead Knot Wire Wheel Clamshell 7" 020" Steel

The All-Pro ALPSB-44242P is a 7" stringer bead knot wire wheel carrying 56 knots in .020" steel wire, with a 5/8"-11 arbor, supplied in clamshell packaging, 5 each per case.

Stringer bead wheels exist to work in a groove. Where a cup brush covers area, a stringer bead wheel concentrates its knots into a narrow band the approximate width of a weld bead — putting the full energy of the wheel into the root, the toes, and the interpass surface of a joint rather than spreading it across a face that mostly rides on the parent metal.

The step to 7" over a 6" wheel brings a larger diameter and a higher knot count at 56, which means more surface speed at the working edge and more knots engaging per revolution. On production weld cleanup, that is throughput.

The twisted knot construction gives the wire the rigidity to strike rather than sweep, which is what actually removes slag, scale, and interpass oxide.

The .020" wire is the general-purpose heavy-duty gauge for this work.

The 5/8"-11 arbor mounts directly to standard right angle grinders. Verify the wheel's rated speed against the grinder's no-load speed before mounting — larger wheels carry lower speed ratings, and a 7" wheel on a fast small grinder is a real mismatch.

Applications include multi-pass and pipe welding, structural steel fabrication, shipyards, pressure vessel work, and heavy maintenance welding. Supplied 5 per case.
