The JAZ JAZ48382 is a stringer bead twist knot wheel, 4-1/2 inch, with 36 knots, in steel, with a 5/8"-11 arbor hole, rated to 15,000 max RPM, supplied bulk.

This is the carbon steel counterpart to the stainless wheel alongside it in the range, and the distinction is the most important thing to get right when ordering. The wheels are geometrically identical — same diameter, same knot count, same arbor, same speed rating. Only the wire differs, and the wire determines what the wheel may touch.

Carbon steel wire is correct for carbon steel work and only carbon steel work. Used on stainless, it embeds carbon particles that rust and break down the passive layer that makes stainless corrosion resistant, producing rust spots on a finished stainless fabrication weeks later. That failure gets blamed on the material rather than the brush.

The stringer bead geometry concentrates the knots into a narrow band roughly a weld bead wide, driving the wheel's energy into the root and toes of a joint instead of riding across the parent metal — which is exactly what interpass cleaning on a multi-pass weld requires.

At 4-1/2 inch and 15,000 RPM this fits standard small angle grinders. Verify the grinder's no-load speed against the rating.
