The Flange Wizard FLWWW-17 is a medium Wizard pipe wrap, for pipes 2 inch to 16 inch in diameter.

The 2 inch to 16 inch range makes this the broadest wrap in the family and, unsurprisingly, the general-purpose one. It spans small-bore work at the bottom end and reaches into the mid-range mains and headers that most industrial pipe fitting revolves around.

The wrap's job is to give a square line around a round pipe — which sounds trivial until you try to do it without one. A pipe offers no edge to reference and no flat to rest a square on. A line marked freehand around the circumference spirals, returning above or below its start, and a pipe cut to a spiral is cut out of square. That end will not seat against its fitting, and the resulting gap becomes a weld problem.

Wrapped around the pipe with its edges brought together, the wrap describes a true plane perpendicular to the axis. The fitter marks to it.
