The Flange Wizard FLW53077-D is a digital magnetic centering head, for 3.5 inch pipe and larger.

The digital readout is the specification that separates this from the dial-and-vial heads in the range, and it changes the tool in a specific way. A dial head requires the operator to level the tool with a vial and then read an angle off a scale — two operations, both dependent on the operator's eye and both harder in poor light, at height, or at an awkward angle. A digital head reads the angle directly and displays it as a number.

That matters most where the reading is difficult to see. A fitter lying under a pipe rack, working overhead, or in a dark ditch is exactly the person who will misread a vial and a scale — and a misread angle becomes a branch pointing the wrong way.

The digital head also removes the interpolation. A dial scale between graduations is read by judgement; a display is not.
