Flange Wizard FLW42050-TXL Threaded Two Hole Pins X-Large

The Flange Wizard FLW42050-TXL is a set of threaded two hole pins in X-Large, for flange holes 5/8 inch to 3 inch diameter. Extensions are included to accommodate thicker flanges up to 9 inch thick, and the design is light weight for easier handling.

This is the extreme end of the range and the specifications explain what it is for. A 3 inch bolt hole and a 9 inch thick flange belong to large-bore, high-pressure piping — refinery, power generation, and heavy process work, where flanges are castings weighing hundreds of pounds.

The weight note in the specification is doing real work rather than marketing. At this size, a solidly made tool becomes something a fitter cannot comfortably handle up a ladder or inside a rack. A tool that is too heavy gets left in the gang box, and the flange gets eyeballed instead — which is exactly the failure the tool exists to prevent.

The extensions address the thickness range. A pin sized for a 4 inch flange has nothing to grip on a 9 inch one; extensions let the same tool span the range rather than requiring several.

Threaded pins clamp mechanically, so they work on stainless, aluminium, and alloy flanges where magnets do not, and they hold securely on massive flanges where magnetic force would be marginal.
