The Flange Wizard FLWWW-16 is a small Wizard pipe wrap, for pipes 1 inch to 6 inch in diameter.

A pipe wrap is one of the simplest tools in the trade and one of the most necessary, because of a geometric fact that catches people out: there is no way to mark a square line around a round pipe by eye. A pipe has no edge to reference and no flat to sit a square against. A line marked freehand around a circumference spirals — it comes back higher or lower than it started, and a pipe cut to that line is cut out of square. An out-of-square pipe end does not sit flat against its fitting, which means a gap, which means a bad weld.

The wrap solves it. Wrapped around the pipe with its edges aligned, the wrap's edge describes a true plane perpendicular to the pipe's axis. The fitter marks against it and cuts to the mark.
