Flange Wizard FLWWW-16 Pipe Wrap Small for pipes 1? to 6? in diameter

The Flange Wizard FLWWW-16 is a small Wizard pipe wrap, for pipes 1 inch to 6 inch in diameter.

A pipe wrap is one of the simplest tools in the trade and one of the most necessary, because of a geometric fact that catches people out: there is no way to mark a square line around a round pipe by eye. A pipe has no edge to reference and no flat to sit a square against. A line marked freehand around a circumference spirals — it comes back higher or lower than it started, and a pipe cut to that line is cut out of square. An out-of-square pipe end does not sit flat against its fitting, which means a gap, which means a bad weld.

The wrap solves it. Wrapped around the pipe with its edges aligned, the wrap's edge describes a true plane perpendicular to the pipe's axis. The fitter marks against it and cuts to the mark.

Wraps are consumables rather than tools. They live against torches and grinders, they tear, and they get replaced — which is why they sell from a display and why Flange Wizard stocks that display twelve deep in this size.

At 1 inch to 6 inch, this small wrap covers the small-bore range that makes up the bulk of pipe fitting work.

Applications include pipe fitting, process piping, plumbing, and mechanical construction.
