The Flange Wizard FLW89754 is a universal magnetic tape holder.

Flange Wizard's own description of this tool is the best one: it is a third hand when working alone. That is precisely the problem it solves. Measuring across a piece of steel requires the tape to be anchored at one end while the operator reads and marks at the other — and a fabricator working solo has two hands, both of which are already occupied. The usual workaround is hooking the tape on an edge that may not be square, or wedging it, or fetching someone.

The magnetic holder anchors the tape end to the work and stays there. The operator pulls, reads, and marks with both hands free, and the anchor point does not move while they do it.

Universal means it accepts standard tape measures rather than a proprietary one.

The value is disproportionate to the price, which is why this tool appears in three separate Flange Wizard kits — the 8910 Burning Guide case, the 8910-P Plasma case, and the Lil' Wiz 8915 — and in the counter display. It is the kind of item nobody buys deliberately and everybody uses constantly once they have one.
